Instagram has the most variations: square post (1080x1080), vertical (1080x1350), horizontal (1080x566), story and reel (1080x1920), and profile (320x320). The format that works best for the feed is the 4:5 vertical because it takes more screen space and drives more engagement than the classic square.

A common mistake is resizing without considering the safe area. YouTube thumbnails at 1280x720 look complete on desktop, but mobile crops the edges.
