Enter your current followers

Type the current follower count for your main account. The calculator works for any platform.

2

Define your growth percentage

Enter your estimated monthly growth percentage. Use the presets as reference: conservative (2%), average (5%), good (10%), or viral (20%).

3

Analyze your projections

Review the projections at 3, 6, and 12 months, the growth chart, estimated milestones, and detailed monthly table.

How to set realistic growth goals on social media

Social media growth follows compound interest logic. If you have 1,000 followers and grow 5% monthly, you gain 50 in one month. But over 12 months it's not 600 (which would be 5% of the original number) but 796—because each month's 5% is calculated on a larger base. Understanding this effect helps you set ambitious but achievable goals.

Growth rates vary enormously by niche and platform. On TikTok you can grow 20% monthly if your content hits, but you can also stagnate for months. On LinkedIn, 3% monthly is excellent. On Instagram, the average for active accounts sits between 2% and 5%. Don't compare your growth on one platform to another.

Your current account size affects your growth percentage. It's far easier to go from 1,000 to 2,000 followers (100% growth) than from 100,000 to 200,000. As you grow, your natural percentage drops. This doesn't mean something's wrong—it's the math of organic growth.

Set milestones instead of linear goals. Instead of 'I want to gain 500 followers a month', aim for milestones: 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, 100K. Each milestone unlocks new opportunities: at 10K you get story link stickers on Instagram, at 50K brands start finding you. Milestones give you concrete motivation instead of an arbitrary number.

Frequently asked questions

How is the projection calculated?+
We use monthly compound growth. Each month, your new followers are calculated as a percentage of your current total, not the starting one. This reflects how organic growth actually works.
What's a realistic growth percentage?+
Depends on your size and niche. 2% monthly is conservative, 5% is average for active accounts, 10% is good, and 20%+ indicates viral content or accelerated growth. Smaller accounts usually grow faster percentage-wise.
Is the projection guaranteed?+
No. Projections assume constant growth, but reality depends on your content, consistency, the algorithm, and engagement. Use it as a reference for setting goals, not as an exact prediction.
